What llms.txt really is
It is a plain text file, placed at the site root like robots.txt, written in Markdown. It gives language models a short reliable summary of your activity plus a list of your important pages. Where robots.txt says what a bot may read, llms.txt says what it should understand.
Let us be precise about its status: Google has publicly stated it does not use the file, and adoption remains a minority. It is not a magic bullet.
